Mr. Hyde - "The Boogeyman is Real" CD Review

1. "The Boogeyning" - A killa intro skit to kickoff this disc in the right hellish direction.
2. "The Boogeyman Is Real" - The title track opens up with a haunting beat as Hyde twist up words like a witch spitting spells. You have now been summoned into this disc.
3. "Dog Will Hunt" - Chainsaw victim's screaming in pain as Hyde burst into this track with swift pounding lyrics in the first verse. Love the words "Chopping up a M.I.L.F" and then speaking of a cunt in the chorus. Hyde proceeds to speak of "Pissing in your mother's mouth" in this sick and raw track. Another haunting beat really gets the disc rolling.
4. "Mr. F'N Hyde" - My favorite track off the bat, very catchy hook. The title really speaks for itself. A great line in this song is "talking shit to all new faggot rappers", the og's are gonna love this.
5. "The Boot (featuring Vinnie Paz)" - Two of the all time great emcee's tear it up on this track. Hyde goes first and Paz comes in second packing his hardcore punch. Legends, both Hyde and Paz have put in the true underground work for countless years and the proof is in this amazing song. It's the boot, put these beat on a loop" Video at bottom of the page.
6. "Step Up" - Just when you think this disc couldn't get any harder it does. Step up and get fucked up is real hardcore hip-hop in it's truest and purest form. Tremendously sick beat smashes this track as it mixes in with an evil ass melody. The music is heartfelt and maybe the best on the disc. Hyde spits so hard on this one..."Slap the shit out of you, New York, killa Queens" and "Skinny pants, panty wearing punks, step up and get fucked up."
7. "I Need Not the Normals" - This track has a slower sick style to it that works very well with Hyde's lyrics which demand respect on this song. A reference to rock star Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue is made here.
8. "The Kid Joe Jewelry" - Skit
9. "Verses From a Unquiet Grave" - This is the coolest title on the disc and an amazing song all together. Power in vocals and music that will drive you to hell. Hyde is a the top of the game with this one.
10. "Truth Of The Beast" - This is another great track, vocals are outstanding and the beat is sick as hell.
11. "Yo NC17 Raps (Featuring Termanology, Poison Pen, Mando the DJ)"
12. "Godless" This is the cream of the crop on a disc with many great tracks. I had the pleasure of seeing Mr. Hyde do this song live and he did it perfect, not a easy task. This CD sets the bar very high for anyone who wants to try Mr. Hyde.
